Frequently Asked…
Does the deer need to be field dressed?
Yes all deer need to be field dressed. When field dressing your deer, always remember to split the pelvic bone and remove the bladder. Please do not cut off the shanks as we use those to assist in hanging your deer. It is always a good idea to put a bag of ice in the chest cavity while transporting your deer from the field to us. Any bloodshot meat will be disposed of as we feel that it isn’t edible.
Does my animal need to be reported to the DNR?
All Game animals must be properly tagged according to the Michigan DNR and Wildlife Department. You can report your harvest online HEREor you can use the Michigan DNR Hunt Fish App on your APPLE or ANDROID phone for added convenience. All HARVESTED ANIMALS MUST HAVE CONFIRMATION NUMBERS.
Do I get MY own deer back?
We guarantee all tenderloins, steaks, roast, burger & brats are from your deer. At time of drop off your order ticket is placed inside the cavity of the deer and it travels through our facility with your meat to ensure YOUR meat is returned to you.
How much yield can I expect?
The condition of your meat when delivered to us determines the total yield after processing. We take every precaution to ensure that your meat is kept separate from other orders. To make sure that you get the most for your money – please take care of your meat.
Do we process all animals?
We reserve the right to refuse any animal that does not look or smell to be a fresh harvest. For example if the deer laid all night with the guts in side or Road Kill you will probably be turned away. We reserve the right to refuse any game that has not been properly cared for.
Do we accept out of state deer?
We can accept out of state deer. Your deer has to be boneless meat or quartered & neither the spinal column or head can be present.
What is the turnaround time on summer sausage, snack sticks, jerky, salami, bacon, breakfast sausage, etc.?
